Our Story – how we created our tank protector/ zipper cover

It all started on a sunny day in May 2020 during the middle of the Covid pandemic when Isaak, who became the founder of ZipCov, took his brand-new Ducati SuperSport S for the first ride of the season.

Little did he know that this ride was about to be the start of a new product and company.

During the ride in Gothenburg (the city where he lived in 2020), not only did he get a speeding ticket that day, but he also discovered that he had scratched the fuel tank of his new ride with the lower part of the zipper on his jacket.

The Motorcycle had a Tankpad fitted, however this was not enough to prevent the damage from occurring.

Feeling frustrated and disappointed at the same time, he said to himself that he would sell the motorcycle.

However, after a few days he accepted the situation and instead started to think about how he could have avoided scratching his fuel tank. He came up with the idea of covering a reflex clamp with textile and that became the starting point of the product the “Tank Protector”.

After almost 4 years (now in the year 2024) and with great support from the incubator ‘Borås Ink’, the product is now finally available on the market.
